Salt Lake City, Utah, February 14, 2018– Cn3D Construction has hired Tom Boyce as their new BIM Engineer! We are excited to have him join the team and expand our services and reach across the globe.
Tom grew up in Houston, Texas; in a family of engineers so he’s been involved in the MEP field since he was sixteen. After serving a mission for the LDS church in Rome, Italy, Tom returned home and picked up again in the engineering field. He met and married Kerry Boyce, his wife of 37 years. They have three children and one grandchild. He lives in Lehi with Kerry and their second son, Daniel who is their son with Autism.
Tom has been working with CADD systems of one type or another since 1982, and has been working with Autodesk products since version 2.6 in 1987. Early on, he saw that the true power in Computer Aided Drafting was in the customization of the program to make it work to fit your needs. He writes programs in Lisp, Pascal, and C+.
Tom has a wide range of hobbies but the two he focuses on most are leatherworking and wildlife photography. He is part of the Maker’s Movement, a collective of programmers, inventors, and DIY enthusiasts that meet and share ideas, resources, tools, and equipment. Tom’s greatest joy comes from seeing the product of his mind become a real and tangible thing.
